Charlie would tell you to bump up the temperature a couple of degrees and feed them quality frozen or live food. He has some other tricks also, but I can't remember the post where he spoke about them. I just add water to the platys and stand back.

Lol , well Frank kinda already took the words out of my hands . 1. turn up your temp to 80 do this slowly as you already know but still gotta say it in case others read this . A few degrees a day will be fine . 2. feed brine or bloodworms ( froozen not dehydrated ) once a day but keep flakes also to keep a healthy balanced diet . 3. water changes daily this resmebles the natural spawning trigger of the rainy season .If you have a gardening flower water jug thats perferated it will make it even more like rain hitting the surface its even better to add your new water with that ( i know this is a little much but it all helps if you want them to breed and do it now ) 4. lighting , dureing this time you have to be religious about schedule the lights have to be on and off at the same time everyday this is very important to keep the fish calm and natural . 5, Make sure you have a good male he should be aggrivateing the females constantly chaseing them dancing in front of them if not throw him in the tabk with something that will eat him and get another male . Alot more are sterile than you think from inbreeding and just bad genetics so its more common than you may think . You need to check your tank to is it heavly planted ? It helps to be . Also add some aquarium salt guppys like a saltier water than most freshwater fish it will help them alot , it also helps keep bacteria in check in the tank . The salt and food with water changes was the trick for me once I got that combination my guppys started breeding like rabbits . I hope this helps . I know lots of ppl will tell you to watch pH but mine is soft like 6 even in all my tanks due to the abundance of plants and wood so that wont have a real affect , dwspite what some say . Now cichlids however thats a diffrent story african have to have hard water I know thats off topic but thought I better say something . But others non cichlid can and will adapt and thrive in low pH as long as the pH is lowerd naturaly by plants and wood .

If all else fails I can send you some that are proven breeders that I know the list I gave will work on lol . What type guppys are you working with ? phantom ? fancy ? endler's ? tuxedo's ? sometimes diffrent breeds are a little more picky about conditions , the phantoms are a good breeder guppy but they usually have smaller numbers of fry but their fry are usually bigger and healthier than others from my experiance . The tequila sunrise are good to they on the other hand have huge numbers in a birth but with more defects and much smaller fry .
