I think that all of the larger cichlids I've ever kept have been SAs. That's just how it turned out and that's was what was mostly available back in the day. While the African lake cichlids are very beautiful (to the point of comparing with marine fish) they were described as being extremely aggressive. If I had the room to try them now, I might give them a try; however, I find myself more drawn to the more peaceful species thes days.
