In an attempt to improve the lighting on my 55 gallon planted tank on the cheap, I bought a 2 tube shop light that I intend to hang over the tank from the basement ceiling. It is a 4 foot long fixture and will have 2 6700K daylight tubes. My question is, how close does it need to be to the surface of the water ? Thanks.
