My son has a cold water tank and has a few diffrent types of gold fish in it that are transfred back and forth from his tank to the hard plastic wading pool he uses for a pond .
He wants to leave the goldfish in the pond and get new fish for his tank but does not want common he wants to keep a coldwater tank .
I cant find anything around here that he likes and thought I would post and see what turned up .
Does anyone have any coldwater fish for sale or trade ?
If not do you know of a site that you would suggest ? I use sunpets alot but am willing to try new source if anyone has suggestions .
I would also suggest lottsafish out of florida but they only sell guppys .

All I have are common goldfish that I bought from a feeder tank. Maybe he would enjoy the native species tank you mentioned. He could have crawdads, bullfrog tadpoles (takes two years for them to develop), minnows, etc. You could probably find stuff at a bait shop. You might check to see if there's a lake stocking company close to you. The one by me has some really cool native species. Good luck.

WOW Frank thanks so much man I completely overlooked that as an idea for him gosh I feel like an idiot lol really i do .
He loved the idea thanks so much agin .
He wants to go to the river with his sain net this weekend lol , Im haveing trouble letting him understand that the river fish are too deep to catch this time of year in the net lol .

Yeah, it's not a good time to catch things but, it won't be long. Of course, tell that to a 5 year old. He could start setting up the tank with plants and hard scape stuff he finds. Might be able to find some cool wood by the river.

If it was my lil girl "cassie" shes 6 it would be easy shes very understanding and mature for her age freakishly so to be honest . It worries me to an extent I worry she is going to miss childhood events due to her level of mature thought , but what can you do ya know ?
My son " river " lol loves goin with the natural idea cause his tank will be of his name lol . He is being pretty cool with the idea of collecting deco for the tank but I have an answer for the net , Im gonna take it and throw it a few times just to ease his mind that nothing is shallow enough to catch .
God help me if we happen to catch something coming to the surface to eat lol . Just my luck we'd catch a schoal of brim or perch by happen stance lol .

His whole name is River Logun Rhodes and sissy is Cassidy Michelle rhodes . They both have the same dad and mom wich is sayin alot now days lol
