Which do you prefer corked, plecos, or something else?.
I like all three conditionally. Cories for small tropical tanks or up to 55 gallons heavily planted, albino plecos for Angel and Discus, plecos for big tanks 55 gallons and upword, and Pictus Catfish for 30 gallon and up for show. What do you prefer and please tell me what tank you would put them in.
Thanks, Dan

Like you, I like all of the bottom dwellers and I have had all of the fish mentioned. Corys are by far my favorites because of their habits, behavior, and manageable size. I like Pictus for their appearance and activity level; however, I think they would be better suited for a 55 gallon or above. While I love plecos, they're not all that active and they can be somewhat rough on your aquascape. Given space and unlimited resources, I'd have many of all the fish mentioned. As you have said, it depends on conditions.

Me I have never had cories , so cant really say about them ..But I absolutly love my bristlenose placo He / she is awsome . I have numerous 20 gal tanks an a couple of 30's . The 30 asian swamp I have has a BN placo as well as an unkown algie eater ( looks like a albino sumo loach ) any ideas on his species would be awsome lol. I have always liked the inverts , they along with my ''BN's'' keep my tank floor awsome clean . The shrimp and snail additions to my tanks give it that natural look and feel to me that alot of tanks dont have . My coldwater tank a 20 is a diffrent story though , I dont have any bottom feeders in as the fish will eat them snails, shrimp ec, ec, can cory or placos go in coldwater ? Maybe I should have asked that in the coldwater forum but this is bottom feeders topic so ..?

I wouldn't think corys and plecos would work in a cold water tank...too bad. There seems to be a lot of interest in shrimps these days. Would you mind telling us what attracts you to them ? Also, maybe give us some tips on good and bad tank mates. Thanks
