Have you guys ever put bamboo in your tanks ? I put a couple of stalks of Lucky Bamboo in my 30 gallon. The roots are in gravel and about half of the plants are above the water line. The stocks add A different appearance that is really nice and exotic looking.

As longs as you have leaves above the surface, they say they do great. Mine are still doing well. One guy on TFK had them completely underwater and they eventually grew up to the surface.

bamboo is a very hardy but strange plant all in one , it is one of those plants that can with stand being submerged or do fine never being underwater at all . I think it looks awsome in a tank I was thinking about usein it in my asian swamp tank afer hearing about franks use of it , I honestly never thought to add it but it would look interesting as a forest thiket in a tank and very natural .

Around here, the local nurseries seem to have the best selection when it comes to pots, vases, and containers made of natural materials. The rich folks don't mind if they crack after one winter. You wouldn't have to worry about that in an aquarium. We have a place close, Turpin Farm Nursery, that has some nice stuff and they have a cool man made creek running through the grounds. It has pools, waterfalls, little rapids, and something live moving around everywhere you look. They have a nice variety of pond / bog plants also. One thing that they have that I think is really cool is a giant (4' tall by 4' in diameter) flower pot filled will plants and pond creatures. It's a pricey place to shop. We usually only go there for special occasions like Mothers Day to pick out a few items.
