I reall love these guys but hate the houseing they require , but the longer I keep them the more I find that comon knowledge is wrong about them / it maybe that its just my fish are diffrent I dont know but ...
I am trying to find a way to have a community of them it has to be possable it happens in nature so it can happen in a tank , size is a major factor I'm sure but also tankmates .
What have y'all had with bettas ? And how about the ratio for females to male ? Do they pair or are they harem breeders at spawn ? Im gonna experiment with this and would love help with input an advice with it .
I have a great male for it hes already been in a couple community enviroments and proven very docile and eager for room mates .
So far he has shared a home with oscars , rasbora , cherry barbs , bristle nose placo ,
I put a female guppy in with him to before but had to remove her fast , not due to him though , she freaked out ! I mean it she actually jumped out of the tank ! and went into a side ways cramp looking state in the top corner of the tank with hvy breathing and eratice twitching so i put her back in the others but he never showed any aggression to her she just got scared at the first site of him , thought it was interesting but shes okay that was awhile ago and shes doing good in her old home .
So what do i add next ? Y'all think I should stick with schoaling fish , they seem to be better so far .
What about aggressive and peacefull ? Like tiger barbs , gouramis , angels ,. just spit balling here
I would love to have multiple males butr know it wont work , although what about space wise maybe 2 could share a big enough place , like cichlids they cant stay together in a small place but in a big enough 2 males can establish territory and share a place . Will this work with bettas ?
