May new ferts and air stones are arriving today. Woohoo ! I ordered some driftwood that I'm kind of excited about. Seemed like the prices were good compared to what you see in stores. Ordered it from Petmountain.

I took a quick look through their site today and found that they have some really reasonable sponge filters for tanks all the way up to 40 gallons. There's something about air pump driven filters that I find attractive. Maybe a flash from the past.

What is the new fert your useing now frank ? Please post on the growth diffrences you incounter with it compared to flourish I would be very interested . I am thinking about swapping to API fert they have a liquid fert and a Co2 liquid that replaces Co2 gas insert that has me very curious . On the filter note; I have transormed my old HOB filters into a kinda homemade Bio filters instead of cartidges I put a filter bag with chipps in one and the others have bio balls where the carteid would go . So far this has proven a much better filter , after all the HOB filters are mainly for debris and current anyways this way they have a bonus purpose and no more cartridges to buy plus when and if I need to medicate a tank I dont have to worry with the filter its fine .

Sorry, I just got a new supply of the same old ferts (Flourish Comp and Root tabs). I was thinking about that C02 liquid also, but heard it wasn't good for vals. Every tank I own has a val of some sort in it. I read an article in Tropical Fish Hobbyist by a woman who is a planted tank expert and she said the liquid CO2 stuff works great, except for vals.
