I have a pond snail population explosion going on in my 30 gallon. Must be over feeding. Luckily, I have a clown loach in the 55 that will eat all I can put in the tank. The snail population in the betta tank stays low and I see a lot of empty snail shells laying around the tank. Do bettas suck small snails out of their shells ?

Mine does but only every so often its like he likes a vertain color or something . Pond snails are just like that too they will baby boom no matter the amount of food the only snail that will control its population is mystery an MTS and both of them will explode first then they will let the off spring die off to control their enviroment before breeding agin . My Rosey barbs are snail fanatics I mean it me an my wife were watching them today with one it was amazing to see themm worklk together one would get it up and others would team up and pull an jerk untill they got it out even the bigger snails .
